In response to COVID-19, WGMC is proud to announce that we've transitioned to a telehealth model of operating. We have also continued to provide much-needed pharmacy services, safely, via curbside pickup or through the mail.

What does telehealth mean for our patients?

It means that rather than coming in to our health Clinic in person, our patients can now attend a virtual visit - over the phone or via video conference - with our clinical staff, volunteer providers, and with a translator if necessary. Patients can still safely pick up medication at our pharmacy, via curbside pick-up or through the mail.

Telehealth visits are absolutely critical to ensure the continuity of care for our patients, many of whom have chronic health conditions that need to be managed regularly. They also allow us to help our symptomatic and COVID-19 positive patients manage from home, and to evaluate when it is necessary to go to a hospital or urgent care setting for testing or treatment.

However, as many as half of our patients, don't have access to the technology required for video conferencing or other important equipment that would allow them to manage their health at home.

That's where your help comes in!

You can help us purchase tablets and WIFI services for our high risk patients who don't have access to that technology. You can also help us purchase other equipment to help them manage their own health from home - including blood pressure cuffs and pulse ox monitors, which we are sending our high risk patients so they can track their vitals.

Your support will also help us continue to furnish our Clinic with the necessary infection control infrastructure and purchase PPE, so that we can safely resume onsite visits this fall.

If you have any questions about our Clinic's response to COVID-19 or how your donations will help, you can contact Margaret Dongas at (815) 726-3377 ext 225 or via e-mail at mdongas@wgmedclinic.org.
